How to impose acrylic

Acrylic paints have appeared in the market more than fifty flyings ago and long ago the love and recognition of artists and designers, also the modellers painting military and historical miniature have deserved. However it must be kept in mind that for obtaining the best effect of work with acrylic paints it is necessary to know the main working methods with acrylic and correctly to learn to impose it.

It is required to you

·         preparations, palette

Instruction

1. Prior to work it would be remarkable to make two preparations for the aid to the beginning artist. The first preparation: on the sheet of white paper vertical strips of 15 cm in height and 3 cm in width are drawn. Then strips are divided into 5 parts. Thus, in each strip 5 squares of 3Х3 cm will turn out. Now we pass to painting of the turned-out small squares. Paint is diluted with water, and the first paint layer is applied on all strip; the second layer is put, since the second small square, the third – starting with the third, etc. At last, the lowermost square in strip will be covered with five paint layers. The evident image of extension of every color turns out. Such preparation in operating time will help to define precisely what concentration of paint needs to be made.

2. The second preparation (example for set of 6 paints): on the sheet of white paper it is necessary to draw "chessboard" of 6Х6 strips with squares 3kh3sm. Then each strip (6 squares) is painted over in separate color, at first down, and then, in the same order across. This work will demonstrate as from set in 6 paints it is possible to receive 36 flowers.

3. Except the preparations stated above, also the palette will be required – it is possible to use plastic or glass, and surely glass with water. The feature of acrylic paints is that they very quickly dry and, unlike other water-based paints, after drying become insoluble in water. Therefore that brushes remained in state, suitable for work, they need to be held in glass with water.

4. It is possible to impose acrylic directly from tube – in this case it is imposed by quite dense opaque layer. Other option is to use special thinners which happen to opaque and glossy effect. The third option is to dilute paint with water, in this case layers turn out translucent, but at lamination at each other (3-4 layers) give the necessary saturation of color. Modellers very much love acrylic for the fact that it can be imposed very thin layers, without loss of the invoice of surface, and at the same time to try to obtain the necessary saturation of color.

5. Technology of lightening when in the beginning the surface is painted over in basic color perfectly is suitable for transfer of light and shade, and then on those sites which as envisioned by the author are given or on which light, gradually, translucent layers falls paint is applied on tone is lighter. After that paint tone lighter gets divorced and already smaller surface and so on before obtaining the necessary effect becomes covered with it. Technology of lightening allows to achieve amazing results, making impression of "live" object. Antipode of the technology of lightening is the equipment of blackout when, on the contrary, the darkened and profound sites are emphasized with color. In principle, both technicians it is possible to combine perfectly. Working with acrylic, artists like to combine coloring wet, moist and dry-brush: in all three cases the different effect is gained. Technology of work moist and dry-brush is good for underlining of volume and the invoice of subject.
